Yuck

Eugenei Bouchard kicked off her grass court swing with one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen by a professional player.  She lost the Elise Mertens, ranked 171, at the Ricoh open in the Netherlands by 6-2, 6-0.   Bouchard moved poorly, competed poorly and missed put away shots the I would have been embarrassed to miss, and believe me when I tell you that I’m nowhere good enough to play professional tennis.  As I watched that match I almost thought Bouchard would get a warning for not competing.  Bouchard has won more matches this year than all of last year, and has beaten some very good players.  But after that performance, one can’t help but wonder if she really wants to be a tennis player
